Website and tech

One site,
five jobs

The site is a WordPress webshop that sells courses. Four of the five jobs can start today. One waits for the name.

In one line

Stop queueing. Start a staging site.

Everything else we want to change is live and selling, so we need somewhere safe to build it first.

Fixed

Access is no longer one person.

Until September only Cathérine could change the site, so every edit waited for her. Cliff now sets up accounts and Adrie coordinates the work. That unblocked everything below.

The five jobs, in the order that unblocks the most

01Staging siteask Webmix
02Accounts and rolesdone
03Automatic discount and referral codesneeds a policy answer
04Structure for search and AI: FAQ markup, alt text, headingsour content, their theme
05New front endwaits for the name

Two numbers that disagree

59% say they start with AI. 1 of our 45 students did.

Manon's research says most of the target group asks an AI tool first. Our own survey says almost nobody found CIM that way: Google and people they know did the work. Both can be true, and the honest read is that AI is coming, not here.

So do the cheap part. Clear questions and answers, real numbers, named people with credentials. That is good for Google today and for AI later. Do not buy anything for it yet.

Google Maps listing for Rotterdamwaits for the name

Why reviews are worth the ask

No competitor in Rotterdam asks for them.

Reviews feed Google Maps and they feed AI answers. Nobody we scanned does it consistently, so a handful of real ones puts us ahead of all of them.

About the redesign

There is a mock-up. It is a direction, not a plan.

It was shared with Xinxin in August and it is organised around who CIM is instead of a list of courses. It will be one site for the whole institute, with both locations as addresses. Building it only makes sense once the name is decided.

Two answers we need

01Which brand route and which name?Xinxin
02Can a discount be claimed after signing up?Xinxin

The first one decides the site structure and the Maps listing. The second one decides whether WooCommerce can run the codes by itself.
